Where: Northern Soul - 700 1st Street, Hoboken, NJ

Why get involved with Project H.E.R.O.I.S.M?

  • Proven benefits when children volunteer, including: intellectual, social & emotional development, positive life-style choices, community betterment, life skills enhancement, and increased lifelong service commitments
  • A sense of community developed when you and your children play a significant role in bettering the lives and environment surrounding you
  • Lasting friendships made when children spend time with those who have a similar desire to learn and apply civic responsibility
  • Connections made between film and literature (movies and storybooks) and the world in which children live, therefore teaching vital comprehension and analysis skills
  • (Who doesn't love becoming a superhero?!?!) Receipt of a cape to wear while truly participating in an act of H.E.R.O.I.S.M.

How can Parents/Guardians stay involved?

Parents/Guardians should continuously reach out to Project H.E.R.O.I.S.M. to see what upcoming events are scheduled. During school breaks and on some weekends, drop-off "camps" will be available for children to watch movies or read stories relevant to the session's topic, participate in discussion groups about what they saw/read, create a project that enables them to serve their community,  and spend times with those who similarly want to give back.
